Mosslands farm is situated on the N2, 108km from Port Elizabeth and 18km from Grahamstown, in the Eastern Cape. The tranquility and beauty of the Kariega and Assegaai River valleys makes the hiking trail a must for nature lovers. The full hiking trail is of medium difficulty and is designed to be completed over two days. Over night accommodation is provided in farm cottages and cabins along the route. If you prefer a shorter walking experience day hikes and custom packages can be arranged.
Rich in abundance of birdlife such as African Crowned Eagles, Knysna Turacos (Louries), six Weaver species, Knysna and Olive Woodpeckers, the hiking trail is a birders paradise. The hiking trail meanders through indigenous bush, along river banks, and under a natural canopy of Euphorbia, Yellow Wood, Milkwood and Sneezewood trees. Antelope such as Bush-buck, Mountain Reedbuck, Blue and Common Duiker, Grysbok, Waterbuck and Kudu are abundant on the farm and are often spotted along the way.
